Seal Beach has a small-town feel because it is a small town…the population is under 27,000. Located at the northern edge of Orange County between Huntington Beach and Long Beach, Seal Beach offers all the amenities of its bigger neighbors and plenty of its own sparkle. You’ll find convenient parking close to Main Street’s quaint business district and beaches, plenty of good eats, plus a pier and 2 miles of neat, sandy beach.
Seal Beach Highlights
Seal Beach highlights include the Seal Beach Pier, the downtown area, and other great attractions.
Seal Beach Pier. This is where the action is- a perfect sandy beach for swimming, surfing, body boarding, getting a tan and just plain kicking back. You can fish from the Pier, eat at Ruby’s Jewel Café at the Pier’s end, and take in a picture postcard California sunset.
Downtown Seal Beach. Stroll through downtown (starting across from the Pier) to find a variety of restaurants — pizza, fish taco, and ice cream shops, as well as a deli, fruit juice bar, and bakery. For fresh fish, join the locals at Walt’s Wharf and for afternoon tea seek out Best of Times Tea Cottage. If you visit on the second or fourth Saturday, don’t miss the Red Car Museum (free) and the trolley that once linked most of pre-freeway LA. Another historical beauty is the Bay Theatre, which has been showing films since 1947 and is the home of the “ Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ.”
Other Attractions. Just a short drive from Seal Beach are the new Aquarium of the Pacific and the Queen Mary, both in Long Beach, as well as Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Universal Studios.
